MICRONEEDLING

Collagen Induction Therapy

Stimulate to Make Collagen!

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) also called Microneedling uses a device to create micro-wounds in the dermis. These micro-injuries trigger the bodies natural healing process, producing new collagen and elastin. The result is improved skin texture & laxity and a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, stretch marks and acne scars. These channels also allow

Hyaluronic Acid or other serums to be driven deep into the dermis, increasing the skins utilization of nutrients by up to 3000%.

Improve the overall texture and tone of your skin with minimal downtime with our state-of-the-art Microneedling procedure with the recently FDA-cleared pen. Microneedling is an advanced, minimally invasive way to safely resurface all skin types. Microneedling can help people of all ages improve the skin’s overall appearance, leaving you with fresh, radiant, more youthful looking skin.

During your Microneedling treatment, your practitioner will utilize the microneedling pen—a medical device with twelve tiny, sterile needles attached to a motorized pen that perforates the skin rapidly creating tiny microchannels. The procedure creates a controlled injury which causes your body to begin its own wound healing response and starts to produce natural elastin and collagen. Increasing collagen in the skin can diminish wrinkles, improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks, minimize pore size, and correct photo-damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a good candidate?

Anvone that wants to improve skin irregularities and look younger.

A single procedure will make a nice change but a series of 3-6 treatments is ideal for optimal results.

The majority of patients skin will be red and flushed for 12-24 hours.

Within 2 weeks you will start to see change that will continue for 3 months.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a magnet to moisture and has been promoted as a “fountain of youth” serum. HA helps the
cells retain water for hydrated, plump and healthy skin.

The treatment is generally uncomfortable (not unbearable) with some sensitive areas being more painful. We offer topical numbing prior to your procedure that makes it more comfortable, though some choose to go without

Most people are slightly pink for 24-48 hours, and some report dryness/flaking for a few days after treatment. Make-up can be applied 12 hours after treatment.

Yes and no. The effectiveness of Fraxel or CO2 is directly related to the aggressiveness of the treatment. When comparing Microneedling to a low/moderate CO2 treatment, Microneedling yields superior results. If you have a more severe (fully ablative or a high fractionally ablative) CO2 treatment, Microneedling doesn’t compete… at least with one treatment. However, while Fraxel/CO2 lasers are great for resurfacing, they also have much more significant downtime and pain associated with the procedure. You could expect to be red/pink for 3-10 days with a light/moderate CO2 treatment and 2-3 months with an aggressive treatment.

We don’t recommend Microneedling for patients with a history of keloid scarring. Unfortunately, there isn’t a clear reason why some people keloid scar and when/where it will happen. Any time the skin is punctured, a collagen response occurs and it happens in a hyper-accelerated pace in people who develop keloid scars.

It depends upon the type of acne that’s present. Some types of blemishes can safely be Microneedled, however, others cannot because of the risk of spreading acne-causing bacteria. It’s best to come in for a consultation to see if you are a candidate.

Yes, however, you would never want to Microneedle over an active cold sore. It’s best to pretreat with an antiviral (like Valtrex) prior to your treatment if you have a history of cold sores.

TREATMENTS TO PAIR WITH MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a combination therapy designed to naturally enhance the skin’s healing properties. In PRP, platelets and their growth factors are isolated from the blood and injected into the targeted sites. This process energizes cellular activity and increases cellular turnover.

Microneedling with PRF

Microneedling with platelet-rich-fibrin (PRF) is a highly advanced technique. It is pretty similar to PRP. In both techniques, blood is drawn into a test tube and spun in a centrifuge to separate it into different layers. This process separates the heavier blood cells from the lighter cells, including platelets and plasma.

Microneedling with CHEMICAL PEELS

On its own, Chemical Peels are powerful exfoliating tools, removing the outermost layer of skin to treat texture concerns and trigger
cell signaling. While chemical peels are effective on their own, they are further enhanced when paired with the benefits of microneedling.

A knockout duo, combining microneedling with a chemical peel is sure to address your skin concern. The powerful combination enhances exfoliation, improves skin texture, and addresses concerns such as hyperpigmentation, acne, and sun damage.

Microneedling with LASER and LIGHT TREATMENTS

Laser and light treatments, including IPL (intense pulsed light), can be used to boost the effects of your microneedling treatment. IPL is a great treatment to have in combination with the treamtnet because it targets sun damage and hyperpigmentation on the surface layer of the skin.
